Mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology – STEM for short – have long been more than just dry school subjects. They are key to the future, shape our everyday lives and open up countless opportunities for children to live out their curiosity. But how can STEM subjects be anchored in everyday teaching so that they don’t get lost among timetables, curricula and many other topics?
This is exactly what the Evening of MINT Inspirations, organized by the Vienna Business Agency invites you to the Education Lab on October 23. Together with experts, educators and interested parties, we will address the question of how STEM education can succeed in kindergarten and elementary school.
Experts such as Ilkay Idiskut, Katrin Zell and Anne Elena Tiefenbacher will be on hand to share their insights from research and practice. The focus will be on the opportunities and challenges that STEM brings to everyday life – from the first playful experiments in kindergarten to structured projects at school.
In addition to an exciting panel, you can expect short pitches from futureEDUCATION award winners who will present their innovative projects. At the STEM market, you will have the opportunity to get to know project ideas and talk to the initiators.
The evening will be rounded off with drinks and a buffet and a relaxed opportunity to network, ask questions and make new contacts.
Ilkay Idiskut – Primary school teacher, known from the movie Favorites
Katrin Zell – MA 10, Head of the Research, Development & Educational Trends Unit
Anne Elena Tiefenbacher – PhD student at the PH Vienna, researches Fermi tasks in environmental education
