get a taste & exchange

Many innovative concepts are created where people dare to try something new. Numerous methods have long been successfully implemented in individual kindergartens and schools – but they often remain hidden.

In order to demonstrate precisely this, we have joined forces with School on the move and the PH Vienna we have organized the series get a taste & exchange series.

We visit inspiring educational institutions together and create space for exchange, new perspectives and practical learning among colleagues.

In March, we will be visiting a kindergarten as part of the “get a taste & exchange” program : the Kinderfreunde kindergarten in Maria-Rekker-Gasse, a real lighthouse project for inclusive elementary education. The aim of the project is to create a kindergarten for all children and to accompany it scientifically: with the question of what is needed for this and what works in practice.

The focus here is on several key areas: open access for all children, regardless of diagnosis or individual circumstances; comprehensive financial support as well as advice and support for parents, especially in challenging phases of life; and the establishment of a multi-professional team with different training and perspectives.

A central role is also played by an inclusive attitude within the team, which is continuously reflected upon and developed through regular teamwork, further training and professional support. Inclusion here means recognizing the diverse needs and realities of children’s lives and creating suitable learning and meeting spaces. This approach is complemented by a multicultural parent-child café, which offers space for exchange, building trust and educational partnerships and is supported by a parent educator.

The series is aimed at teachers, school administrators and anyone interested in new approaches to education. Together with School on the move and the Vienna University of Teacher Education we make visible what is already working in practice and invite you to think and participate.
