Paths of innovation: How effective approaches find their way into the mainstream

How does a good idea become more than just a single example?

Effective ideas emerge in kindergartens and schools every day: new methods, creative learning settings, formats that help children and young people. And yet many of them remain local. Not because they don’t work, but because the path through the system is often unclear.

On this evening, we will explore the following question together: What does it take to make it easier for effective approaches to “migrate” from one location to the next?

What you can expect:

  • Welcome & short introduction to the new project “Close the Gap
  • Brief input on systemic challenges for educational innovations
  • Storytime: Two innovators share their journeys of ideas – how effective approaches have found their way to new places of education
    • Eva Hofbauer, KPH Vienna-NÖ & FREI Day Ambassador
    • Daniela Longhino, PH Styria & Head of the University Learning Workshop
  • Two moderated table rounds (Collective Story Harvesting): reflect, bundle, derive next steps
  • Outlook: What’s next for the project and how you can get involved

You don’t have to prepare anything: Bring your perspective and experience with you. You go home with new contacts and ideas. The online discussion is also interactive (breakouts).

For whom?

For educators, school administrators, educational initiatives, administration, research, business – and all those interested in education who want to share their experiences and join in the discussion.

Admission from 16:30 – Coworking in the Education Lab beforehand
Hybrid participation is also possible!

This project is funded by the FFG (www.ffg.at). The FFG is the central national funding organization and strengthens Austria’s innovative power.
This event marks the start of a new FFG-funded project “Close the Gap” project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), which addresses precisely these questions and aims to work out over the next few months in interviews, focus groups and workshops how we can strengthen the transfer of innovation in the education sector. If you are interested in taking part, please contact the project manager Diego Heatherman: diego.heatherman@edlab.at.
