We are looking for: Community Manager (f/m/d)

We opened the Education Lab in April 2025! In close cooperation with the City of Vienna and many other partners, we have created a place for everyone who wants to actively shape education in Vienna.

Educators, people from administration, civil society and educational practice meet here. They exchange experiences, share ideas and network in order to shape the future of kindergartens and schools together. The aim is to make existing innovations visible – and to disseminate them together.

Community Manager:in

(f/m/d) | from August | full-time

Do you know the Viennese education system and have you worked with educators or managers yourself? Do you like planning series of workshops that build on each other instead of individual events without a connection? Are you the person who sits down after an event and thinks about what needs to be done better next time? Then we look forward to meeting you.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Community Growth & Event Manager who will weave the common thread through the event offerings, develop program tracks for the various target groups and ensure the implementation of recurring formats.

The key question here is: How can teachers in Viennese schools and kindergartens be well supported and empowered?

Your responsibility:

  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing our program tracks to empower different member groups.
  • Based on the theory of Collective Efficacy, you understand how to weave red threads into community programs and ensure the quality of the various offerings.
  • You will be responsible for the organization and implementation of the various program tracks and recurring event formats.
  • You ensure high-quality support for all members along the entire member journey.
  • You will be closely involved in the content and strategic development of the Education Lab’s community work and will also coordinate the use of the Education Lab as an event venue with the Space & Events team.
  • You are the contact and sparring partner for Education Lab community members.
  • You are in close contact with the Community Growth & Event Manager in order to have a holistic perspective on our growing community.
  • You actively build strong relationships with educators, kindergarten and school leaders and other key players in the education system.
  • You also measure your success by the impact that the community programs and offers have on the participants.
  • You actively support the development and implementation of selective innovation programs.
  • You see yourself as part of the Education Lab team, who also lends a hand when support is needed elsewhere outside your project.

Your qualities:

  • Experience in the Viennese/Austrian elementary education system: You strengthen the team with your expertise in elementary education

  • Impact orientation, conceptual enthusiasm and team spirit: Together with other stakeholders, you design programs that have impact in mind and are based on exchange, community and professionalization

  • Strong implementation skills: You get things rolling and ensure that ideas become concrete formats and results

  • Eagerness to learn: You see yourself as part of a learning organization, see learning experiences as potential and are not afraid to venture into uncharted waters

  • Service orientation: Through your work, you support all program participants in their own further development and empower them through your support

  • Organizational talent, especially in the planning and coordination of formats and calendars

  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to lend a hand where it is needed

  • Confident in using digital tools (CRM, communication and planning tools)

  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills

This is what we offer:

  • Daily exchange with a community that is committed to equitable and innovative education
  • Part of a new venture within an established structure and in close collaboration with an international team and network
  • Access to all Impact Hub, Climate Lab and Future Health Lab services
  • Further training, team activities, partner offers and much more.
  • Flexible working environment (partly hybrid working and flexible working hours)
  • High autonomy and personal responsibility through team structure according to Holacracy
  • Working hours: 40 hours/week

  • Start date: between August 1 and 15, 2026

  • Remuneration: The annual salary is between € 43,498 and € 57,470 gross, depending on level of education, qualifications and professional experience (according to our internal salary scheme). It is subject to an annual inflation adjustment.

  • The position is initially limited to 18 months, with the option of extension.

  • Work location: Education Lab (1040), as well as shared use of Impact Hub (1070), Climate Lab (1090) and Future Health Lab (1100)
