June 2026

We are looking for: Program Manager School Development (f/m/d)

We opened the Education Lab in April 2025! In close cooperation with the City of Vienna and many other partners, we have created a place for everyone who wants to actively shape education in Vienna.

Educators, people from administration, civil society and educational practice meet here. They exchange experiences, share ideas and network in order to shape the future of kindergartens and schools together. The aim is to make existing innovations visible – and to disseminate them together.

Program Manager School Development

The Education Lab sees itself as a learning organization within the Viennese education system. We also want to use a programme to enable school teams to develop further as an organization and to develop their own potential in a targeted manner in line with the specifics of their location.

For the start of the program in September 2026, we are looking for a Program Manager who will contribute to the professionalization of the Viennese education system in an impact-oriented manner and add another facet to the Education Lab team.

Responsibility:

  • You take responsibility for the implementation of our school development program in close cooperation with the program management and the Program Coordinator

  • You are closely involved in the content and strategic development of the program and coordinate the coordination within all internal and external stakeholder groups

  • You are responsible for the organization and implementation of the various school development formats together with the external consultants and participating schools

  • You ensure the quality of the program and coordinate with those responsible for impact work and measurement

  • You are the point of contact and contact person for the participating schools

  • You ensure that work processes are documented and contribute to evaluation and improvement

  • You keep an eye on the finances and ensure that you can provide an insight into the status quo at all times

  • You see yourself as part of the Education Lab team who also lends a hand when support is needed elsewhere outside your project

  • You measure your success by the impact that the school development program has on the participating schools and the people involved

Properties:

  • Experience in project and stakeholder management: You have got to know the Viennese/Austrian education system from the inside, but have also already gained experience in other organizational systems

  • Networked thinking: You quickly recognize connections and think outside the box to consider the needs and effects of and on others

  • Impact orientation, conceptual enthusiasm and team spirit: Together with other stakeholders, you design a program that has impact in mind and is based on exchange, community and professionalization

  • Eagerness to learn: You see yourself as part of a learning organization, see learning experiences as potential and are not afraid to venture into uncharted waters

  • Strong implementation skills: you get things rolling and ensure that ideas become concrete formats and results

  • You have a good feel for people and dynamics, and are comfortable moderating and speaking with and in front of many people

  • Service orientation: through your work, you support all program participants in their own development and empower them through your support

  • Organizational talent, especially in the planning and coordination of formats and calendars

  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to lend a hand where it is needed

  • Confident in using digital tools (CRM, communication and planning tools)

Working environment

  • A role with strategic scope, operational implementation and a high level of personal responsibility

  • Daily exchange with a community that is committed to equitable and innovative education

  • Part of a new venture within an established structure and in close collaboration with an international team and network

  • Access to all Impact Hub, Climate Lab and Future Health Lab services
