Culture School Workshops: Reflecting, understanding and shaping diversity
The workshops of the Culture School workshops are aimed at teachers who teach in socially and culturally heterogeneous classes. School is understood as a social space in which social inequalities, affiliations and orders of difference are reflected and can be actively shaped.
The aim is to see diversity not as a problem, but as educational potential. Based on social science and anti-discrimination approaches, the workshops combine reflection, knowledge transfer and concrete possibilities for action in the classroom.
Culture School Workshop: Methods and materials for dealing with diversity in the classroom
The third workshop in the series focuses on the concrete: Which methods work in diversity-sensitive teachingwhich materials really help, and how can they be integrated into your own classroom context? classroom context transfer to your own classroom?
You work with tried and tested approaches, look together with other teachers at what works in the classroom and take away material with which you can continue to work.
What you can expect
- Methods that have been developed in a diversity-sensitive and anti-discriminatory way and have been tested in practice
- Concrete materials that can be used directly in the classroom
- Space to examine and reflect on your own teaching practice
- Exchange with other educators about what works in everyday life – and where things get stuck
For whom?
For teachers, school administrators and all those interested in education who take diversity seriously and want to reflect on discrimination in everyday school life.
The Culture School sees diversity as a superpower and supports teachers, students and guardians in seeing diversity as a positive resource.
Together with them, we are organizing three independent workshops in the Education Lab. This is the third on the topic: Methods and materials in the classroom.
