How can democracy actually be put into practice in everyday school life, rather than just being a topic discussed in class?
As part of the Vienna Democracy Day on September 15, the Education Lab invites you to an interactive station focused on democracy and student participation in schools. Together with the Brigittenau Integrative Learning Workshop (ILB) , we’ll show how students can actively help shape their school.

At ILB, students can have a say, run for office, vote, advocate for their interests, and actively help shape their school. One special feature is the S*Team: a diverse group of students that brings together various ways of getting involved.

At our station in the Education Lab, materials, posters, and short videos created by students offer insights into this vibrant democratic school culture.
Stop by and join us in exploring: How can school become a place where democracy is not only taught but also lived out every day?

Who is this event intended for?

The station invites educators, students, and anyone interested in education to gain new insights into democratic school culture and to engage in conversation with one another.
